HYDRAULIC OIL CHANGE AND ITS MAINTENANCE

 Carry out the oil change periodically as per the maintenance plan.

 Monitor the oil condition every 6 months to establish longer
intervals between each change.

Sequence

 Unscrew the filling orifice (1) and remove the filter sieve.

 Empty the oil tank using a gear pump or an oil siphoning unit via the filling orifice.

 Open the drain screw (located on the operator side near the machine base) to run out the last remnants of oil.

 Unscrew the cover (2) and clean the bottom of the tank thoroughly.

 Remove the suction filter (3). Clean thoroughly. Replace if found damaged.

 Put back cleaned or new suction filter.

 Replace the tank gasket on the cover and screw on the cover. Screw on the drain screw.

 Clean and replace the filter screw.

 Fill the tank with “Shell Tellus S2 M 46 (or) Gulf Harmony AW 46 Plus (or) MOBIL DTE 25” oil upto the required level

Provision for Offline cleaning of oil

Two ports are provided on the tank (for OD 16 mm pipe) to

connect external cleaning system for offline filtering

Cleaning the suction filter

 Before opening the filter cover, place a container under the filter so that when the filter cover is taken  off, the oil in the filter housing can be collected.

 Undo the filter cover
(1) by means of a double end spanner (size 32). Take care to see that the ‘O’ ring
(7) is not damaged.

 This causes the bottom disc (2) to press against the rubber seal (6) and seals the filter housing from the tank end.

 Unscrew pusher plate (3) and remove the filter insert (5).

 Wipe the inner surface of the filter housing with a clean cloth.

Cleaning the filter insert

 Dirt on the inner surface of the filter insert should be washed off in diesel or petrol. Use a soft paint brush if necessary.

 In case of heavily soiled inserts, compressed air can be blown through the insert for thorough cleaning.

 On looking through the insert no clogging should be visible.

 Clean the filter cover, central rod (9) and magnet (8) in diesel or petrol using a paint brush if necessary.

 Check the condition of ‘O’ ring (7) and seals (6). Replace if found damaged .

 Correctly position the filter insert on the central rod and tighten the pusher plate.

 Fit back the entire assembly into the housing. Take care to see that the ‘O’ ring sits correctly. Check the oil level in the tank. If necessary, top up.

Change of bearing oil for thrust bearing

 Change of oil for screw drive bearing is recommended after every 5000 operating hours.

 The level of bearing oil may be checked after every 500 operating hours and may be topped up if necessary.

Procedure for change

 Unscrew the oil filter screw on top of the bearing housing.

 Place a container under bearing housing directly below the drain plug.

 Open the drain plug and run out the oil.

 Screw up the oil drain plug.

 Fill up fresh oil through a funnel to the required level.

Recommended oil grade

 Use Lubricating Oil – ISO VG 68 (recommended - “Shell Tellus S2 M 68 (or) MOBIL DTE 26”)  Use Lubricating oil – ISO VG 460 CLP 460 – DIN 51517 Part 3.

Lubrication of Injection unit

 Change of hydro motor bearing for every 6000 running hours Procedure for greasing.

1. Pump the grease the nipples on the traverse and Bearing
    housing.

2 .Check for grease coming out of throttles,

3. Once grease started coming out throttle, pumping of grease can be stopped.

Recommended grease

Grease DIN 51825 – ARAL (Lithium based grease)

Charging grease lubricating pump

The bearing surfaces of the clamping unit such as toggle bushes and bushes of the moving platen are centrally lubricated by means of a centralized lubricating system.

Manual lubrication

 After a preset number of strokes, the machine displays an alarm message ‘LUBRICATION     NOT COMPLETE’ in the alarm page.

 Once the alarm appears, the user must operate lubricating pump manually till the alarm resets.

 The resetting of alarm takes place once the limit switch 2-S 30 located on the grease distributor senses the end of lubrication.

Auto lubrication

When the machine is supplied with the ‘Auto lubrication’, it comes with an automatic grease lubricating pump 2 ZY10.

How it functions

After a preset number of cycles oil is supplied through the port (4) of the grease pump and enters the rod end (5) of the grease pump. As a result, a force is applied on the piston (6) which pushes out the grease (7) through the outlet (8). The grease outlet is connected to the grease distributor (not shown in the picture) from where it is distributed to various lubricating points.

Charging the grease in automatic lubricating pump

 The capacity of the lubricating pump is about 800 cc.

 A lithium saponified grease (conforming to DIN 51 502)
should be used.

 Charging is done via lubricating nipple (1) by means of a
commercial grease gun.

 The amount of grease present in the pump can be read off
on the piston rod extension (2).

 Charging should be continued till piston rod extends upto
265mm or grease comes out from the lubricating point on
moving platen (3).

Attention!
Do not fill used or contaminated grease in the lubricating pump.
Clean the filter mesh in the grease inlet block (9) as per the maintenance schedule.

o Unscrew the filter nut (cartridge) from the cylinder body.

o Unscrew the ring nut from the filter nut.

o Remove the strainer (filter insert) from the filter nut, clean it by blowing air and with clean kerosene. /diesel

o Frequency of cleaning – once in 2000 hrs.
